I attended Bergin University of Canine Studies, where I earned an Associate's Degree in Assistance Dog Education in 2020. During my time at Bergin, I had the incredible opportunity to foster and train service dogs in-training, which further solidified my passion for working with dogs.
In addition to my formal education, I've also gained experience through volunteer work. I've worked with Warrior Dog Rescue, where I helped dogs who needed extra support and socialization. My experience working with rescue dogs has informed my work as a dog trainer and mediator, and has helped me develop a deep understanding of canine behavior and training.
I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), a Family Dog Mediator (FDM), and Licensed Family Paws Parent Educator (FPPE).
As a dog trainer, I strongly believe in using positive reinforcement techniques to train dogs. This means that I focus on rewarding good behavior, rather than punishing bad behavior. I believe that training should be fun and enjoyable for both the dog and their owner. My philosophy is that every dog is unique, and therefore requires a customized training plan to best suit their individual needs. I also believe in using science-based training methods that are grounded in the latest research. My goal is to help dogs and their owners build a strong bond and live happily together.
It's important to note that dog training results can vary depending on many factors such as the dog's breed, age, temperament, and history, as well as the owner's commitment to training and consistency in implementing the training plan. I am committed to providing customized training plans and teaching owners effective techniques to achieve the desired behavior changes in their dogs. However, I cannot guarantee specific results as each dog is unique and may respond differently to training.
Yes, as a responsible and ethical dog trainer, I always prioritize the well-being and success of my clients and their dogs. If I feel that a particular case is outside of my expertise or if I believe that another trainer may be better suited for the job, I will not hesitate to refer my clients to someone else who can better help them. I have a network of trusted colleagues and resources in the dog training community, and I am committed to ensuring that my clients receive the best possible care and guidance for their dogs.
